The new book by Sarah Jaffe, Work Won’t Love You Back: How Devotion to Our Jobs Keeps Us Exploited, Exhausted, and Alone, resonated. Why can’t your motivation for doing a job just be to pay your bills? I for a long time have not bought the line of many bosses about their company being “family”.
I have always loved the Clint Eastwood movie The Outlaw Josey Wales, but a couple of articles I read today about the author of the original story blew my mind. Apparently this was the same person who wrote George Wallace’s infamous inauguration speech!
